Tomorrow is the celebration of our Patronal Feast: St. Michael and All Angels. For those who might be wondering about this, Christ Memorial was consecrated as a memorial church for the soldiers, Confederate and Union, who fought and died at the Battle of Mansfield in April 1864. As such, several years ago, it was decided that it would be appropriate to name St. Michael the Archangel, patron saint of soldiers, as the Patron of Christ Memorial.
Please come and celebrate this day with us, worship God our Father, study his Holy Word and stay after the 10:30 am Mass for a cook out. Cal is cooking burgers and hot dogs. Anyone who can, please bring your favorite side or covered dish.
The St. Luke's Medical Van will be visiting us tomorrow as well, so if you need your blood pressure checked or would like to learn more about helping St. Luke's in its ministry, this is your chance.
We are also very pleased that Deacon Kay Hunter will be with us tomorrow. It has been some time since she was transferred to St. Matthias, and this is our opportunity to say hello to her again.
See y'all tomorrow.
Fr. Michael+
